Radio frequency in Japan

Because I’m moving my car from Canada to Japan, I just realized that the radio frequency in Japan is different.

FM Broadcasting in Japan uses 76-90 Mhz. FM tuning in Japan uses odd or even numbers, like 80.2.

FM Broadcasting in Canada uses 87.5-108 Mhz. FM tuning in Canada uses odd numbers, for example 95.3Mhz or 94.5Mhz.

RDS not used in Japan, for those who love song names on your radio, this will be completely gone. Not to mention some channels on the odd numbers. Or you’ll experience bleed-over or fuzzy channels.

Because most cars nowadays are code friendly, this is an easy fix. You’ll need some software, a laptop and some cables.
